Ash & Rosie’s Elegant Black and Gold Wedding at Sandalford Winery
Tell us a little bit about yourselves!
Ash: I’m a choreographer and graphic designer, and I’ve got a serious passion for sports. You can often find me studying game stats or rewatching matches—it’s my happy place. Oh, and I’m also a trivia nerd! I have a 7-year-old daughter, Mckenzie, and we’ve got a spoodle named Harry Winston. Life’s an adventure, and we love trying new things, especially when it involves good food and wine.
Rosie: I’m the CEO of Yoni Pleasure Palace and a few other businesses—I love being a boss babe! I’m all about nature, spirituality, and standing up for what I believe in. I’m bubbly and sociable and will always fight for those I love. Also, being a Leo definitely brings out my fiery side.
How did your love story begin?
Rosie: We met at a Jungle Body mega class back in 2015, but it wasn’t until 2019 that we reconnected. I reached out to Ash on Facebook, and we met up at Cottesloe Beach—it was magic. For our first date, Ash planned a super romantic picnic on the beach under the stars. The spark was undeniable from that very moment!
Can you share your proposal story with us?
Ash: I had this grand plan to propose on Penguin Island, complete with a whole photography and video team. We had talked about how penguins mate for life, and it felt like the perfect spot. But, thanks to COVID, that didn’t happen. Instead, I proposed in our living room on my 30th birthday, tipsy from champagne, with my daughter and our dog there. It was spontaneous, fun, and perfect!
What inspired you to choose Sandalford Winery as your wedding venue?
Ash: Funny enough, I had been to Sandalford Winery before and thought it would be a great spot for a date, so I took Rosie there for lunch. We had been exploring venues on the Sunshine Coast, but nothing felt quite right. The moment we stepped into Sandalford, we knew. It was stunning, close to home, and the food was out of this world. It was the perfect spot for us.
What was the vibe or theme of your wedding day?
Rosie: We wanted our day to be magical, elegant, and fun—all the things that reflect our relationship. Our theme was black and gold with fairy lights to add that extra bit of romance. It was everything we dreamed of: romantic, classy, and simply beautiful.
Tell us about finding your wedding outfits.
Ash: I found Shane Ave on Instagram and knew immediately they were the right fit for me. They designed a custom tuxedo for me, complete with black velvet details. It was everything I imagined—classy and timeless.
Rosie: I had the best day with my mum and sister when shopping for my dress. I tried on 20 dresses, but it was the 20th one that stole my heart. It was a one-of-a-kind princess gown from Tuscany Bridal. I felt like royalty walking down the aisle.
What was the most memorable part of your wedding day?
Ash: Watching Rosie walk down the aisle was unforgettable. I also loved our vows to Kenzie, the quiet moments we shared during our photos, and our first dance. The whole day was just filled with love.
Rosie: Walking down the aisle and seeing Ash waiting for me—it took my breath away. Saying my vows and being surrounded by so much love made the entire day magical.
Any advice for couples planning their own weddings?
Ash: Definitely hire a wedding planner! Confetti & Co made everything so smooth for us. And don’t worry about traditions—do what feels right for your relationship.
Rosie: Be true to yourselves and your love. You don’t need to follow anyone else’s rules, just make it your day!
What was your first dance song?
Ash: We danced to “You Make My Dreams” by Tim Halperin—it was so much fun and captured the joy of the moment perfectly.
What does marriage mean to you?
Ash: For me, marriage is a constant reminder of the love we share. Every time I look at my ring, I think about how lucky I am to spend my life with my soulmate.
Rosie: It’s all about commitment and connection. Marriage is a daily choice to love, grow, and build a life together.
