MARGARET RIVER, AUSTRALIA
Tell us a little about yourselves.
Clinton and Felipe are a multicultural couple, Clinton from Australia and Felipe from Colombia. We are really different in our personalities and the duties that we love to do. But we love each other because of these differences.
We have been together for three years; a friend introduced us to each other, and after a couple of months, we started to date.
Tell us about the proposal.
The proposal was on our first Anniversary 7th December. We were on a hike at John Forrest National Park, where Clinton proposed to Felipe at the Eagle view.
Any stories from the lead up to the wedding stressful or funny?
It was stressful for Clinton because he wanted everything perfect, and the biggest surprise was the helicopter flight.
What lead you to the venue? Had you been there before?
The winery WISE was selected because it has beautiful lookouts and good rates. We wanted somewhere that we could see the hills, and at the same time, the ocean and the WISE was perfect.
Our inspiration was because we both feel most at peace with the beach and bush at our feet. The theme was Blanco attire, Australian Beach meets bush minimalistic. With candle lighting and native centerpieces with candles for table settings. The meaning behind the white color was peace. The candles’ lighting celebrates a special tradition in Colombian which we incorporated into our wedding as every guest got to light a candle and make a wish on our special day.
Most of our wedding was DIY. From the Arch which Clinton and his best man Paul made. To the center table setting, which his sister Rachel and family collected the foliage for that morning. Clinton put numerous hours into our candlelight display, setting the candles in the vases and individually putting each guest’s names on.

As Blanco was the attire, white it was, we wanted something fresh and elegant. We had ideas between us both on what we wanted. So while we were on holiday with our parents, we had some suites designed and tailored.
Talk to us about the big day! We want all the details.
It was a stressful day with almost all our family and friends trying to have everyone and everything on time. To be on time and walk simultaneously to reach the ceremony with our Mothers from the beach’s opposite sides.
Our Favorite moment was when we were in front of everyone at our ceremony on the beach- declaring our love. When we finished our vows, the ocean swept over our feet at that exact moment. It was magical, and of course, our photoshoot and helicopter flight down the coast to arrive at our reception to see all our family and friends waiting. It was amazing!

Advice for other couples planning a wedding?
Keep it simple and share it with the people that really love you. It does not have to be an expensive wedding with many people. It’s more about your connections and the good energy they share.
