A intimate queer micro elopement in Bend, Oregon

Love in the Pacific Northwest: A Beautiful Queer Elopement Story

Despite knowing each other since they were twelve, Ashley and Leo officially met on Tinder and have been together for two years. They recently got married on their second anniversary in a small elopement at Todd Lake, Bend, Oregon, with their wedding photographer, Riley Bibey, to capture the memories.

One of their favorite memories together was a night in Portland, where they had Thai food and laughed their hearts out while walking in the rain. They could have been tired from their 24-hour drive from San Diego to Portland, but being together made the whole trip worth it.

The proposal was a romantic day in San Francisco, where Leo got down on one knee and proposed at the 16th Avenue Tiled Steps as the sun was setting.

The couple decided to elope because they have a huge family and many friends, and they wanted their wedding to be about what they ultimately wanted. So, after a lot of consideration, they decided to have a final head count of 35 people, including their closest family and friends.

The actual wedding day went by so quickly, with the couple getting ready at a huge Airbnb with their families. They had a first look at Todd Lake, which made the day feel “real,” and their guests soon followed. Ashley’s mom and dad walked her down the aisle, and their vows were both sweet and funny. Leo’s little sister had a bubble gun that she used once they exchanged rings, and they both laughed and celebrated being married.

The photos taken at Todd Lake were the couple’s favorite part of the day. It was just the two of them with their photographer and videographer, capturing the beautiful scenery and their love for each other.

Although not all their loved ones could be there on their wedding day, Ashley and Leo are still giddy about being married and referring to each other as “my husband” and “my wife.” They both agree that this ceremony feels super “official” and cool, making them feel like true adults.

Ashley and Leo’s small queer elopement was a testament to their love for each other and their desire to have a wedding that was true to who they are. With the stunning scenery and their love for each other, the day was nothing short of perfect.
